El 13 de febrero es el día mundial de la radio desde 2012, así que os vamos a contar algunas cosas en inglés sobre este fascinante invento y sus capacidades.

INTERNATIONAL RADIO DAY

First: on the 20 of September of 2010 Spain proposed to the UNESCO (United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization) to include an agenda item called "world radio day".

Second: the radio was invented in 1895 and became widley used in the 1920's .

Third: radio waves travel at the speed of light and can travel thousand of miles.

Fourth: the radio is one of the most powerful tools  for comunication, especially in developing countries.

To conclude, radio has been with us for many years, informing us of both good and bad things.

This news item aims to bring back those memories. Those who grew up in the 80s and 90s will surely have many fond recollections, as radio was a part of their childhood.

What we want to achieve with this is to prevent radio from being replaced by social media, because social media disconnects us from reality and can corrupt our minds.

So listen to the radio; it's a lot of fun!
