Paul Klee was a German artist from over 100 years ago! He painted pictures using shapes: it's called CUBISM. He was born on the 18th December 1879 in Switzerland (Europe).

Klee learned to draw with line, shape and color, then he realized that painting could be abstract, that is to say, that objects in abstract art don't have to be exactly like in reality.

Here we show you an example  of his painting ''Rose Garden'':

He used chalk, paste, watercolors and crayons in his paintings. He also worked slowly and on lots of paintings at once. Klee taught himself to paint with both hands. Klee created almost 9,000 paintings in his lifetime!

We hope you enjoyed this post!
