On September 27, 2024, the CEIP el Faro school went on an excursion to the University of Alicante to the workshops organized for the International Science Day.
The workshop consisted of three phases:
1. Learn what components are necessary to have an optimal substrate for growing horticultural plants such as tomato or cucumber.
There were some ilustrative posters available where the differences between the organic part and the inorganic part are explained, as well as the function of each component.
2. Prepare your own growing substrate from the individual components.
3. Plant a vegetable seed in a biodegradable pot to take home and observe its growth.
