RECYCLING SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Por: A.G.P y G.R.G  YEAR 6A

We are going to tell you about the recycling project we started last year in our school.

Last year our English teacher started a project from the University of Alicante for recycling school supplies: pens, correction markers and permanent markers, for larger goods. Everything we collect is converted into an other products that we can use and does not pollute the environment.

After one school year we there are nine recycling boxes troughout the school. We interviewed the English teacher to find out more about the project:

1-How much did we recycle last year?
The total was 12,210kg.

2-What do we win doing that?
We contributed to make furniture, outer covers, transport pallets and other things.

3-Where do you take the supplies?
We take them at the end of the each year to the University of Alicante.

4-Who runs it?
I am in charge of the final part, taking all the collected items to the University, but all the teachers and students in school contribute by separating these items from the bins and making sure they are in the correct container.

5-Why do we recycle?
To reduce plastic waste to help the planet be less polluted.
