St Patrick was born in Britain of a romanized family. At age 16 he was taken away by irish raiders from the villa of his father. Later, he was carried into slavery in Ireland he spent six years there as a herdsman  and was finally starting to lose hope. But then, he heard a noise as he turned around and he saw a boat so he started to have faith again, He ran to the boat shouting for help. the driver saw him he decided to take him on the boat and bring him back to Britain. In Ireland he was starved and almost died before he was finnaly reunited with his family.

In Ireland St Patrick is honoured as true prilgrimages to sites believed to hold an association with him. One of these is the annual pilgrimage to the top of Croagh Patrick,  a mountain in Mayo county in western Ireland.
