Safer Internet Day is a commemorative day that has been celebrated annually on the second Tuesday of February since 2004, established by the European Commission in that same year.
•Why is safer internet day is celebrated?
It is celebrated to raise awareness of on-line problems and current concerns:
- Sleep problems
- Obesity
- Delays in learning and social skills
- Negative effect on school performance
- Behavior problems
- Problematic internet use
- Risky behaviors
