OCEAN RACE SCULPTURES CONTEST - YEAR 6

THEMATIC

The theme of the sculptures was "seas anda oceans"

CONTEST GOALS

-Raise awareness about reusing and recycling yo reduce waste and plastics.

-Publicize student work through an exposition.

-Promote "La vuelta al mundo a vela" and instill interest in nautical sport and respect for the marine environment.

-Promoting awareness of the sea and oceans through the Plastic Seas Reader Projector by Ana Alonso.


RULES

-The sculptures had to be built with recyclable and/or recycled materials.

-Maximum dimensions of the sculptures: 1200 x 800 mm (lenght x width), the size of a europalet to serve as a support, and 1500 mm high


WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Any class of third cycle of primary (5th and 6th year) and the first cycle of ESO (1st and 2nd year) of educational centers of Alicante.

INTERVIEW

-How long did you take?
•One month and a half.

-What materials did you make it with?
•Bottles, sand, shells, cork and a wifi reel.

-How did you do it?
•Together we painted half gray and the other half blue.

-Have you worked as a team? Did you like the experiencie?
•Yes, and we liked the experiencie.

-Is it finished? Are there winners?
•Yes it's finished, and we don't know who are them.

INTERVIEW

-How long did it take you?
•Two to three weeks.

-What materiales did you make it with?
•Cartons of milk, bottles, trash and cardboard.

-How did you do it?
•Picking up the trash from de beach, putting the trash into the bottles, glueing with hot silycone and painting ir.

-Have you worked as a team? Did you like the experience?
•Yes, we liked it and we worked as a team.

-Is it finished? Are there winners?
•Yes, it's finished and there are winners but it's not us.
